Hanoi Airport’s new T2 has officially opened on 31 December 2014, facilitating international air services at the airport, as confirmed by the Airport Corporation of Vietnam (ACV). The airport, completed construction works on the new four-storey of the international terminal in November 2014 with ACV implementing measures to facilitate the opening of the new passenger building ahead of the New Year 2015. Airports Corporation confirmed the new facility will operate as an international air terminal featuring 96 check-in counters, 10 self-service kiosks, 17 boarding gates and 283 flight information display systems. International air service carriers have relocated their operations to the new terminal on 31 December 2014, while the airport’s T1 will serve as a domestic terminal. ACV noted the new facility is part of a major expansion programme, allowing the airport to handle up to 10 million passengers per year.
